Defending champions Atletico de Kolkata launched its new jersey for the upcoming season of Hero Indian Super League. Team’s captain Robbie Keane, Head coach Teddy Sheringham and team’s owners Sanjiv Goenka and Utsav Parekh were present at the launch ceremony held on 6 November in Kolkata.
The team hasn’t made any major changes in the look of the jersey. With team’s logo patched on the front side, the new jersey has retained the look of its previous version. Also there’s no change in the colour pattern of red and white alternate strips on the jersey.
ATK has been the consistent performer in past seasons of ISL. Performing excellently in the first and third season of the league, the team not only qualified for the final match but also lifted the trophy by defeating rival teams in the final games. Kolkata’s football club is the only team to win the championship for two times in the history of ISL.
In the pre-season matches played in the month of October this year, ATK managed to beat all teams to win the games. Winning both friendly matches against Dubai Irish Football Team and Dibba-Al Hisan Sports & Culture Club, the team proved that it’s energetically ready for the much awaited fourth edition of Hero Indian Super League.
ATK is all set to confront with Kerala Blasters FC in the opening match. The game is scheduled to begin at 8:00 PM on 17th November this year. According to the updated schedule of the league, the opening match will be played at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, which is situated in Kochi.
