Dimitar Berbatov, who recently joined Kerala Blasters team for Hero Indian Super League 2017-18, confirmed that he will not continue to play as a striker in the team for upcoming season of ISL.
In an interview with Bulgarian news agency, the 36-year-old soccer player said, “I am going to be a midfielder, show the young guys, wait for interviews, in my time there I am going to popularize football.”
Revealing that he can’t even see himself as a striker, Berbatov further said, “I will continue to play soccer in India and I want to justify the expectations of all people.”
The former Manchester United striker made clear indications about his strategies for the forthcoming season of Indian Super League, which is slated to commence on 17th November this year.
Kerala Blasters team, which has signed the high-profiler footballer Berbatov, will play its first game of 4th season of ISL against Atletico de Kolkata at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on November 17, 2017.
