Chennaiyin FC is set to fly to Thailand for pre-season games

Popular Indian Super League team – Chennaiyin FC is all set to fly to Thailand. The football club is scheduled play pre-season games in the three week camp which will commence on 11th October 2017.

A source close the club said that the team will leave for Thailand in the early hours of Wednesday morning. As per the pre-season schedule, Chennai’s soccer team will reside in the training camp at True Arena, Hua Hin, a place 125 miles away from the capital city – Bangkok.

Starting the pre-season preparation in India, Chennaiyin FC played some football matches at SDAT Nehru Park. The team kicked off playing the practice matches from 2nd October this year.

The 26 member squad, which includes eight overseas players, was trained for ten days in Chennai under the mentorship of head coach John Gregory. Other members of the coaching staff also guided the players for the upcoming edition of ISL.

As per the pre-season schedule, Chenniyin FC is expected to play four friendly matches in Thailand. After completing the foreign tour, Chennai’s team will return to India on 2nd November 2017. After returning to India, the ISL 2015 champions will continue their preparations for the fourth season of Hero Indian Super League.

4th edition of ISL is slated to commence on 17th November this year. Chennai’s team will play its first match against FC Goa on 19th November at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, which is located in Chennai. The two teams had faced each other in the final game of ISL season 2. CFC had defeated the Goa’s soccer team in that match and became the champions for the first time in the history of ISL.
